Sights of Sydney

We decided to stay the night in Sydney instead of going back to Austi which allowed us to get an early start on Monday morning. Sydney is a beautiful city - it helps of course that the weather was just perfect - stunning blue skies and aground 20 degrees (the previous 3 weeks it had rained non stop).

Our day started with a walk through Hyde Park and the botanical gardens where we were in the company of hundreds of bats!

But these strange and rather ugly looking creatures are balanced out by the stunning multi-coloured parrots.

And of course no trip to Sydney would be complete with out photos of the iconic Opera House. It is a truly spectacular building - oddly enough the tiles are actually cream in colour although they appear brilliant white.

We took the famous Manley ferry where we spent a few hours having lunch and watching the world go by.  We were amazed by how many surfers there were - do these people never work?
A very uncooperative husband..... I wanted to take a few photos of him with the Opera House in the background but he wouldnt have it.
